Welcome Rachel! So glad you were able to stop by and chat with us for a while.

Where are you from?

I am from a small market town in South West England, just a short drive from the famous Georgian city of Bath in one direction and the fabulous Cotswolds in the other. I have lived there with my husband and two daughters since 2001, before that we lived in the city of Bristol which is famous for it maritime history.

Attending any conventions/conferences this year?

Yes! I am going to the annual Romantic Novelists Association conference in the summer. The RNA is the UK’s equivalent of the Romance Writers of America. It is a two night/three day event where we spend time socializing, writing, attending lectures and generally having a good time. It is something I look forward to every year and have made some fabulous friends which I would like to think I will know for the rest of my life J

Do you have a critique partner?

I honestly might have the best critique partner in the world! She was an editor in a previous life so her critiques are fabulously in-depth and I can say without doubt, she has made me a better writer. We have been working together for about two years now and I would be lost without her. A good critique partner is essential for any writer.

Tell us your latest news? Current projects?

I have just sent my third Victorian romance to my editor at Kensington – I loved writing this book and pray that my editor enjoys it too. This is Monica’s story. Monica was a secondary character in my last Victorian romance, The Temptation of Laura. She had so much more to tell that I had to give her a novel of her own!

Right now, I am working on the proposal for book five of my Harlequin Superromance series set in the fictional UK seaside town of Templeton Cove. This is my final contracted book with Harlequin so I hope they will want to renew my contract for more. I honestly feel as though I could write about the residents of Templeton Cove forever, lol!

What ignites your creativity?

Anything and everything! Inspiration is all around us, you just have to move through life consciously and the stories will come. A news bulletin, a picture, a place, a snippet of conversation…it’s all there for the taking. The problem comes when you find a nugget of an idea and have make it stretch to 85,000 words.

Any life experiences tangled in the storylines?

My family and I getting caught up in the 2010 French floods inspired my second Superromance. We were rescued by helicopter from the hotel roof after being stranded for over 12 hours. It was a terrifying experience and the opening chapters of A Man Like Him are pretty much an hour-by-hour account of what happened.

What book are you reading now?

I usually have two books on the go at any one time – currently I am reading The Summer Queen by the fabulous Elizabeth Chadwick and The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis.

Rachel’s latest release is the third book in her Templeton Cove series with Harlequin Superromance. What Belongs To Her is available now – here is the blurb and buy links:

She's ready to take back what's hers

Since the moment a local crime boss claimed ownership of her family's fairground, Sasha Todd has dreamed of righting the wrong. Now it's time to act, and backing down from the man's estranged son is definitely not an option. After all, giving up her legacy to hot-blooded John Jordon means losing the chance to finally heal the wounds in her past.

Stopping John in his tracks—and resisting the sizzle between them—is Sasha's best defense. But there's more to him than she thought, which changes everything. With what matters most at stake, she'll have to risk a brand-new future with John, or walk away from the man whose heart belongs to her.
