..The Perfect Christmas
After receiving a Christmas card from an old friend who appears to have the perfect life, Cassie Beaumont becomes determined to use any means necessary to find her perfect man and start a family. Her best friend tells her about matchmaker Simon Dodson. His fee is prohibitive-- thirty thousand dollars-- but he guarantees results. So she makes an appointment with him.
Simon is prickly and unapologetically rude, but something about him is appealing and intriguing. He will not answer any personal questions, and he requires Cassie to perform three tasks before he will introduce her to her perfect mate. But, as she performs her Christmas-themed assigned tasks, she thinks more about mysterious, lonely Simon than she does about her hand-picked perfect mate.
This enchanting, frequently humorous short tale is very nearly a perfect holiday read. Simon is still almost as mysterious at the end of the book as he is at the beginning, but this is a small complaint, for everything about this book is an utter delight.
