Carol K. Carr
Berkley Prime Crime
Queen Victoria stopped by for a visit with a medium to summon the spirit of her beloved husband Prince Albert. When Albert's spirit appears, he insists that she spend the holiday at Balmoral in the Scottish Highlands. Suspicious, the Prime Minister sends India Black and French, one of his agents, as undercover moles to protect the Queen and prevent any assassination attempts.
India is assigned a position with one of the members of the Queen's entourage, with French as one of the guests, and a young boy set up in the stables to watch there. The three are deep into the intrigues of unpredictable dangers.
Historical suspense at its finest, India Black and the Widow of Windsor is an entertaining read with witty characters, which is a pure gift from a very talented author.
