Months ago, Trey Wheeler was in an accident. He was rescued by a mysterious woman who got him to the hospital, then disappeared. He has vague memories of blonde hair and blue eyes, but it was her voice that lingers with this guitar‑playing cowboy. He tried for a long time to find her but now has almost given up. When he hears her unmistakable voice in a store one day, he will not rest until he connects with that voice's owner.

When Elle Masterson saved Trey, he called out for a recent girlfriend while in his unconscious state. She does not want to be a rebound girl; nor does she want to be involved with someone who will develop a deep attachment. This ski instructor spends six months of the year in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and the other six months in Argentina. She’s nowhere near ready to settle down, but Trey makes himself impossible to resist. Now she must make sure she does not break his heart.

This first full‑length holiday tale in Vicki Lewis Thompson's long‑running "Sons of Chance" series serves up an absolutely delicious cowboy in Trey. The story is compelling as well, both to long‑time readers and first‑timers, though those who already feel a connection to the Last Chance Ranch will find the most enjoyment here.

Nash Bledsoe has been using hard ranch work to deal with his deep unhappiness. His divorce has just become final.  While the end of his marriage was inevitable, heÆs a man who keeps his promises, and it bothers him to have broken this one. Then a fire sends him to a neighboring, abandoned ranch to investigate... and he finds the bane of his existence burning a recliner.

Bethany Grace has made her career as an author of motivational books. Her message has always been a positive one, but the recent death of her alcoholic father leaves her with a lot of negative emotions. She drags his recliner out of the house and sets it on fire, only to be confronted with someone who was hurt instead of helped by her books' message. At first Nash

gains great pleasure from seeing his ex‑wife's favorite author in a less than happy place. Then they discover a very positive passion together, but it cannot last because sheÆs leaving for

Atlanta in a week.

Vicki Lewis Thompson continues her long‑running "Sons of Chance" series with this firecracker‑hot tale whose strength is in its characters. Bethany needs to leave, and Nash needs

to stay, and their warring needs are handled with sensitivity and, yes, grace.

Twin brothers Rafe and Wyatt Locke recently discovered that they have a half brother. Wyatt welcomed the idea of more family, and while visiting the Chance family, he found love. Now he’s getting married, and though Rafe is a complete city slicker, here he is, on his way to the Last Chance Ranch to be the best man in a Western-themed wedding. He’s sure it won’t be much fun, but he’ll endure it for his brother.

Meg Seymour, the maid of honor, is from Pittsburgh, so at first Rafe thinks he’s found a sophisticated kindred spirit, but she loves the clothes and the life, and she even offers him riding lessons. Soon he realizes he might as well give in and stop worrying about looking foolish, and not just on horseback, though he surprises himself with his ability to enjoy riding. He wants to enjoy Meg as well, and the feelings are quite intense for just a short affair.

Vicki Lewis Thompson packs a lot of family dynamics into this short tale, with festering emotions simmering and sometimes boiling over. Despite all this, there is a lot of joy to be had here, and Ms. Thompson keeps her large cast of characters under control so new readers will not be lost.

Annie Winston left her hometown on a wave of victory. She won the town’s beauty pageant, married the star quarterback and landed an on-air job at a TV station in Chicago. Now ten years later she’s returning home in disgrace. Nothing like showing up for your baby sister’s wedding divorced, jobless and twenty pounds overweight.
Jeremy Dunstan is the computer geek who loved Annie all through high school. She barely knew he existed. Now’s his chance to convince her that they’re soulmates. She’s only in town for the week, so he’d better get cracking!
Dorcas and Ambrose, a witch and her warlock husband, have recently moved to town. They were sent there by the High Council as a punishment. They’ve gone from being matchmakers to the biggest and brightest of the magical set to matchmakers to mere mortals. Well, the joke’s on the council, the couple has never been happier. Jeremy tells them that he doesn’t want any help, but Dorcas and Ambrose give it to him anyway.
Throw in a rebellious, juvenile dragon, a Loch Ness-type monster and a visiting witch with a taste for trouble, and you have the makings of a rollicking good story. This is a continuation of a series that can be read alone. It is fun and sexy and a great book.

Emma writes best-selling novels about sexy werewolves. Making love with an alpha werewolf is her favorite fantasy, but that's all it is, a fantasy.  Little does she know but Aidan is a sexy werewolf. In fact, he is the crown prince of the local pack. He is also a big fan of Emma's books. Foolishly, he told his family about these great books. He marvels at how accurate they are.

Aidan's father surmises that Emma must have a werewolf filling her in on the details of pack life. Aidan is assigned to watch her until he catches her talking to the blabbermouth. For three months, Aidan observes Emma constantly. There is not even a hint of werewolf contact.  Emma launches her latest book tour with a book signing, and Aidan attends it. Surely, the traitorous were will show up. There is no sign of another werewolf, but Aidan does learn that Emma has received an email from someone claiming to be a werewolf. He says that he wants to meet her on the next leg of her book tour. He wants to shift for her. Emma thinks he is a harmless kook. Aidan fears he's not. Aidan pulls strings and gets assigned as Emma's bodyguard. He can control his attraction to Emma. No problem, right? Wrong!

This is the beginning of a fun, sexy, new series by a great writer.
